If you know how much your average customer spends with you, then you know how much money you can spend to acquire that customer.
For example, if the average customer spends $3.00, then you can afford to pay as much as $2.99 to acquire those customers.
Of course, who wants to work for pennies?
So let’s say you’re willing to go as high as $2.00 to acquire these $3.00 customers, giving you a profit of $1.00
This means, of course, that you can buy any and all advertising that converts well enough to buy yourself customers for $2.00 apiece, or less.
Some advertising works better than others, but because you know your ... read more

Are you marketing via social media yet?
Or did you try it and give up?
This month we’re going to cover the basics of social media marketing for one simple reason – it’s an excellent way to grow your business.
From getting seen, growing your list, selling products and hooking up with JV partners, social media has something for every marketer. It’s simply a matter of learning ropes, jumping in, and finding out what works for you.
Let’s get started...
What Is Social Media Marketing?
Social media marketing takes place when someone shares content on social media networks to promote a brand and accomplish marketing goals.
It might involve posting short texts, pictures or videos that bring ... read more

No doubt you’ve seen plenty of upsells yourself, especially in the make-money niche.
You’ve seen good methods and bad. Maybe you’ve even gotten aggravated at the whole upsell process you had to go through to get your product.
And maybe you’ve even had customers complain to you about your upsells. (Hopefully not.)
Here’s why upsells are so tricky – they can seem a bit... and let’s be honest here...
DEVIOUS.
“Buy my product and you can get XYZ benefit!”
They buy your product and you say, “Whoopsie, if you REALLY want to get XYZ benefit, then you also need to purchase this second product.” And the third, and the fourth...
This is why some people ask ahead of time ... read more

A friend of mine works with brand new marketers on setting up and building their business.
Can you guess the number one problem these new marketers make for themselves?
They want to target EVERYBODY...
EVERYBODY who has a kid.
EVERYBODY who wants a date.
EVERYBODY who wants to make money.
EVERYBODY who wants to lose weight.
My friend has to go around and around with them to convince them of one simple, powerful fact:
The more you specialize, the more you sell.
Think of a general practitioner doctor versus a brain surgeon – who do you think makes more?
Think of a general contractor versus a contractor specializing in high rise buildings – who do ... read more

I’ll wager that 9 out of 10 people who read this won’t get it.
Not really.
They’ll say, “Yeah, that’s probably right,” and then they’ll blow it off like they never read it.
But the fact is, I’m nearly certain that I why some people make a killing online and others never make more than a few hundred bucks here and there.
For example, imagine you’ve got some blow-hard individual who maybe isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. But he doesn’t know that. He thinks he’s unbelievably smart. He thinks his products are radically awesome. He thinks he’s king of the internet and master of his niche.
And even though his products are ... read more

“I want to start an online business but I don’t know how.”
“I want to start my own blog and list build but I don’t know how.”
“I want to create a product but I don’t know how.”
I want to [insert whatever it is you want to do] but I don’t know how.”
Well guess what... neither did every single person who did it for the first time.
But you’re got to take the leap anyway, and take it on faith that you will land on your feet.
Figuring things out on the fly is a learned skill.
And the more often you take the leap – any leap – without knowing exactly where you’re going to ... read more

You’re bring up your site and ... something’s not right.
In fact, something is very wrong.
How do you know if you’ve been hacked?
Here are 12 definite signs...
1: Your Site Vanishes
If you’re online and your site has disappeared and the only thing that comes up is a blank screen with an, “Oops! Site could not be found,” there could be two reasons.
Either your web designer is modifying the site and it’s not finished yet, or you’ve been hacked.
2: Your Site Displays Another Website
Some hackers will redirect your site to an adult site by placing redirect code in your files.
Look for a new file or existing file that contains something ... read more

We all make mistakes, errors, blunders and things we really wish we hadn’t done.
Remember the last time you facepalmed? Yeah, me too.
Let’s see if we can catch the next mistake BEFORE you make it.
And let’s also see if you’re already making one or more of these marketing mistakes. If you are, you’re not alone.
Targeting Everyone
Who are you targeting with your online marketing campaigns?
Everyone with internet access?
Everyone who needs to lose weight?
Every parent on the planet?
You need to narrow your target market. If you look at the demographics of your current customers, that will tell you who to target.
Don’t make assumptions about the demographics of your customer base.

Well, no. It’s a lot more complicated than that, with hundreds of requests instantly pinged around the world to bring the text and images to your visitor’s screen.
In fact, there is so much going on in those few short seconds, that there is a LOT that can go wrong – and frequently does.
And a slow website is BAD news for you.
It can cost you thousands of visitors and conversions, not to mention all the lost revenue.
If you’re Amazon, a one second delay can cost $1.6 billion annually.
That’s how much speed matters on the internet.
First, let’s test your website to see how fast it’s loading.

I saw a question the other day from someone who wanted to know if it’s...
“...totally stupid to comment on my own website... leaving positive comments about my own reviews and including my own affiliate links to other products, like this:
‘I really liked that product but this one is better (affiliate link.)’”
First of all, you could totally do this. All you’d have to do is setup different login credentials and use those.
But I don’t recommend it, and not even for the reason you’re probably thinking, either.
While it is true that some people will figure out what you’re doing, realize you’re a faker and you’ll lose ... read more

Not a month goes by that someone doesn’t tell me it’s too late to start an online business.
Rubbish.
There are businesses being started today, next year and in 10 years that will dwarf anything we’ve see thus far.
If you are just starting in your online marketing career, then you are very much on time. Consider this:
New York is 3 hours ahead of California but it does not mean that California is slow, or that New York is fast. Both are working based on their own "Time Zone."
Someone is still single. Someone got married and 'waited' 10 years before having a child. There is another who had ... read more

In getting ready to write this article, I wanted to open with a joke about affiliates.
I typed in “affiliate joke” into Google, unsure of what results I would get.
Would you believe... there is an affiliate program for something called, “Daily Dirty Joke?”
That’s right, it’s official: There is now an affiliate program for EVERYTHING you can imagine.
That’s terrific for affiliates because it gives them choices...
LOTS of choices.
So many choices, in fact, that they may never see - much less consider - promoting your offers for you.
Long gone are the days of, “Put it online, and affiliates will ask to promote for you.”
True, once you have a very proven track ... read more

You've heard that outsourcing is a great way to grow your business (that's true).
And while you'd like to get started right away, maybe it all seems a little overwhelming.
You're not sure where to start or what steps to take to get the process rolling.
Good news: You can get started with outsourcing in just four easy steps. Read on...
Step 1: Determine Your Needs
Your first step is to figure out what to outsource. Ask yourself these questions:
What jobs do you need done? Here you need to evaluate all areas of your business, including: Writing, copywriting, graphics, design, programming and other technical jobs, marketing and customer service. Then draw up a list of jobs you have in each of these areas.
Is it cost-effective to outsource? First ... read more

Have you ever seen a bonus for a product that included some kind of one-on-one coaching?
For example, it might be a mini-course in which participants send in their assignments each day for comments.
Or maybe participants are allowed to email one question per day for 30 days.
It’s some kind of non-automated simplified coaching that takes a real person to fulfill.
And if you’re like me, you wondered how in the heck this product seller was going to be able to grade all those assignments, or answer all those questions, or whatever.
Well, here’s the dirty little secret: Most, and I mean MOST of the participants will never actually participate.

Generally speaking, the more things you offer your customers, the more money you will make.
And if you don’t have a wide range of price points in your products, then you are losing money.
A good marketer who’s been doing this for awhile will have products priced from $7 all the way up to 4 figure coaching programs, and even 5 figure consulting packages.
But I see a good number of marketers get stuck on those higher priced products, because they think they’re tough to make.
They’re not.
First, let me clarify that monster video courses are no longer the greatest upsell in the world. In fact, I would suggest you steer clear of trying to ... read more

Have you ever wondered why some online marketers seem to be so much more successful than others?
Or why one marketer bounces back from a failure within days, while another one gives up and begs for his old job back?
Or why you see some online marketers everywhere, and other marketers hear only crickets?
Here are seven clues on what sets some online marketers apart from others...
Believe in Yourself
Successful online marketers believe in themselves and their business. When the going gets tough and when you make mistakes, it’s your belief that will pull you through.
You’ve got to believe that you are fully capable of building this six or seven figure business, that you are able to bring ... read more

I once knew a dairy farm girl who could make her cows follow her about like puppy dogs.
All she had to do was get one or two of them to walk with her, and the entire rest of the herd would fall into place to see where they were going.
After all, they didn’t want to miss anything... like maybe some fresh green grass or alfalfa!
People are like this, too.
If you get a few of them to follow you, then the rest of the herd will follow, too.
Not that I’m calling your customers cows, or anything, but it works the same way with people as it does ... read more

You work hard to build your sales funnel. You’re buying traffic, but your funnel isn’t converting well enough to fully pay for that traffic.
Which means, you’re in the red. Yes, you are building your list, and yes, over time you will recoup your money from your list by promoting other products.
But wouldn’t it be great if you could get your funnel in the black NOW, so that you can buy all the traffic you want and build your list as fast as you want?

I “think” it was an annual fee. But I wasn’t sure. And that is why I didn’t buy it.

A friend of mine has been doing this for years, yet he’s the only one I’ve heard of doing it.
Frankly, I think there is a ton of room here for more people to do the same thing, and maybe even in different niches, too.
In my friend’s case, he noticed a lot of these online memberships in the IM niche all had one thing in common: Regardless of what they were teaching, they all had to teach the basics, as well.
So if they were teaching how to do newsletters, or set up sales funnels, or how to blog, or whatever... they also had to teach how to setup a website, ... read more
